What You’ll Bring To The Table:

  • Strong knowledge of legal practice in Western Australia, including areas such as trust accounting, financial management, risk, ethics, leadership, or practice innovation.
  • Excellent facilitation, teaching, or training skills with the ability to connect complex concepts practically and engagingly for experienced legal practitioners.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication abilities to foster lively discussions and participant engagement across diverse backgrounds.
  • Competence in delivering high-quality workshops both face-to-face and online, with a focus on practical application.
  • Well-developed organisational skills for session preparation, assessment, and record-keeping within learning management systems.
  • Digital confidence with proficiency in MS Office, online meeting platforms, and learning management platforms.
  • A commitment to ethical standards, continuous improvement, and collaborative teamwork.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in legal practice leadership, practice management, or regulatory affairs.
  • Prior experience as a facilitator, lecturer, or assessor in legal education or professional development.
  • A teaching qualification or equivalent professional education experience.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in law and eligibility to practise as an Australian lawyer.
  • Substantial post-admission legal practice experience, ideally in Western Australia.
  • Experience in facilitating or delivering legal education or professional development programs is highly desirable.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to deliver approximately five courses per year, each lasting around 16 hours, with flexibility for remote work and after-hours activity.
  • Ability to manage coursework marking (~52 hours per course) and participant assessments, primarily remotely and during flexible hours.
  • Commitment to maintaining standards aligned with the College’s policies and the Legal Practice Board’s guidelines.
